Move your Strava history into Coachbox in one upload

Upload your Strava bulk export and your full history lands in the calendar. Duplicates are skipped for you.

What comes into Coachbox

  • Your training history

What this connection cannot do

  • This is a one-time import, not a live connection. It brings your history across, it does not keep syncing afterwards.
  • The upload runs in the web app. It is not available in the Coachbox mobile app yet.
  • Activities you entered by hand in Strava, without a file behind them, are skipped.

Switching platforms usually means starting with an empty calendar, and years of training suddenly become a screenshot in an old app. The Strava import exists so that does not happen.

How it works

Strava offers a complete export of your account, which they call the Bulk Export. You request it there, they mail you a ZIP, and you upload that ZIP in Coachbox. We process it in the background into workouts in your calendar.

The import only touches your activity data. The rest of what Strava puts in that export is left alone.

Duplicates are handled

If a workout is already in Coachbox, whether from another platform or an earlier upload, the import recognises it and skips it. The summary at the end tells you how many landed and how many were skipped.

Two things it does not do

It does not bring your training zones. Those are yours to set, or your coach’s, and inheriting a stale threshold from another platform would do more harm than good.

And it is not a live connection. This is a one-time move of your history. If you also want new Strava activities to keep flowing in, that is a separate thing from this import.

Coming from TrainingPeaks instead? Their export works differently, so follow the TrainingPeaks import.

Connecting Strava

  1. 1On Strava.com, go to Settings, My Account, and request your archive under Download or Delete Your Account. Strava mails you a link, which can take a few hours.
  2. 2In Coachbox, open Settings, Synchronisation, and click Import on the Strava row under Import data once from another platform.
  3. 3Drop in the ZIP file. Processing starts on its own and keeps running in the background, even if you close the window.

Questions about integrations

My archive is bigger than the 1 GB limit. Now what?

Photos and videos are almost always the reason. Unzip the archive, delete the media folder, and zip it again. Coachbox never reads those images, so you lose nothing from your training history.

Will I get duplicates?

No. Activities already in Coachbox are recognised and skipped, and you see the count in the summary at the end.

Do my training zones come across?

No. The import brings activities only. You set your zones yourself, or your coach sets them for you.

How long does it take?

A few minutes to an hour, depending on how much history you have. It runs in the background, so you can close the tab and come back later.
