Its demo page says pricing depends on your testing volume, needs and business model, and that you see the package options and what it costs during the demo (INSCYD demo). We did not find a statement that certification is required first; INSCYD College offers certifications and business courses (INSCYD College). If you are looking for a free trial, the closest we found is one free test for coaches who sign up for INSCYD’s email tips (INSCYD for coaches). What INSCYD does publish is the structure of its subscriptions for coaches and practitioners: pay per active athlete or user, flat rates, prepaid test packages or custom contracts, and by default a subscription renews yearly unless you cancel 62 days ahead (INSCYD service license agreement). Athletes cannot buy INSCYD themselves. They buy a test from a coach or lab, and INSCYD puts the usual price of one performance profile at $200 to $450 (INSCYD FAQ). Because INSCYD does not publish its amounts, we do not estimate a total cost of ownership; below we show how each product bills instead. Coachbox has transparent pricing: coaching plans from 19 EUR per month billed yearly (excl. The Pricing Transparency Problem
You are probably reading this because you searched for INSCYD pricing and could not find it on their website. You are not missing a hidden page. We did not find software prices anywhere on inscyd.com; the demo page answers “How much does INSCYD cost?” with “Pricing is based on your testing volume, needs and your business model. During the demo, we’ll show you package options and pricing specific to your situation” (INSCYD demo). INSCYD’s service license agreement says the applicable prices are available at app.inscyd.com, the application you log in to (service license agreement).
This approach is common in B2B software sold to labs, teams and federations. The logic is that pricing depends on usage volume, use case and the specific needs of each customer. For a coach or a small performance business trying to build a budget, it means one extra step.
You cannot compare INSCYD’s cost to alternatives before a conversation with their team, and you cannot put a number in a business plan until you have had that demo. In our view that is not a red flag, but it is a friction point worth knowing about before you start evaluating.
What We Know About INSCYD Costs
INSCYD publishes how it charges, the price range athletes usually pay, and what onboarding includes. Here is what their own pages say.
What Athletes Pay for a Test
Athletes cannot buy INSCYD. INSCYD sells only to coaches and professionals, and points athletes to a coach, lab or university nearby (INSCYD FAQ). The athlete pays whatever that coach or lab charges. INSCYD’s own FAQ gives the range:

If you plan to offer INSCYD testing to your athletes, this is the market INSCYD describes for you to charge in (INSCYD FAQ).
What Practitioners Pay
INSCYD does not publish amounts, but its service license agreement lists the subscription models it offers (service license agreement):
- Pay per active item, such as active athletes or active users, with “active” defined in your individual contract
- A flat rate, billed monthly, quarterly or yearly, on the number of analyses, athletes and users
- Prepaid packages for a defined number of evaluations
- Monthly, quarterly or yearly rates for a set number of evaluations
- Individual contracts with custom fees and usage options
On an active athlete subscription, tests are unlimited within a reasonable limit, which INSCYD sets at 6 tests per athlete per month. Unless agreed otherwise, subscriptions renew yearly and you cancel at least 62 days before the end of the period. Unused tests or active athletes do not roll over (service license agreement).
INSCYD’s FAQ adds that there is no limit to the number of coaches or athletes in your account, and that your fees scale with the number of performance tests you run or athletes you coach (INSCYD FAQ).
We did not find a price for any of these models on inscyd.com, so we do not estimate one here. Ask for the figures in the demo, together with the renewal and cancellation terms that apply to your contract.
Onboarding and Certification
INSCYD starts every user with a starter package: they set up your account, brand the software with your logo and naming, and give you two hours of personal 1:1 consultancy on the software and the testing protocol (INSCYD FAQ). The FAQ describes the starter package but does not list its price.

We did not find a statement on inscyd.com that certification is required before you can use the software; the FAQ describes onboarding and consultancy as the way in (INSCYD FAQ). INSCYD does promote “INSCYD-certified coaches and labs” to athletes through its marketing network (grow your coaching business), so if being listed matters to you, ask what that requires.
Other Costs to Consider
Beyond the subscription itself, a few practical costs depend on how you work:
Learning time. INSCYD’s profile covers many metrics, from VO2max and VLamax to fat and carbohydrate combustion (INSCYD FAQ). INSCYD supports this with consultancy and courses (demo). In our view, budget some of your own hours to get comfortable explaining the results to athletes.
Test equipment. INSCYD does not sell testing hardware (INSCYD FAQ). Its demo page says protocols range from a power meter, GPS watch or stopwatch up to a lactate analyzer and VO2 system, and that they match protocols to your equipment during the demo (demo). A lactate meter and strips cost the same whichever software you use, so we leave them out of the comparison below.
Coaching platform. INSCYD says it is not a training platform where a coach creates training programs or tells the athlete what to do (demo, FAQ). If you coach, you run planning and athlete communication in another tool. TrainingPeaks, for example, lists its Coach Edition from $21.99 USD per month billed monthly with 4 basic athletes and 1 premium athlete, $54.99 USD per month for 5 or more basic athletes, extra premium athletes at $9 per month each with volume discounts for coaches, and a $99 start-up fee that it waives with a coupon code shown on the same page, with “additional taxes may apply” (TrainingPeaks coach pricing).
Moving results into your coaching tool. INSCYD lists integrations with AZUM and Velocity (INSCYD integrations). For other coaching platforms we did not find a direct integration on that page, so check in the demo how zones reach the platform you use.
What INSCYD Says About Revenue
INSCYD positions testing as a paid service for your athletes. Its FAQ says coaches create an additional revenue stream of about 20 to 35% of total business revenue, with an extra time commitment of about 4 hours per athlete coached per year, and that labs can lower their retail price per test while making more profit per hour (INSCYD FAQ). Those are INSCYD’s figures; we have not verified them.
The business case is clearest for:
- Coaches who sell performance testing as a service
- Testing centers with a steady flow of clients
- Practitioners whose athletes can pay the $200 to $450 per profile that INSCYD describes (FAQ)
In our view it is harder to justify for coaches who test occasionally or work mainly with recreational athletes on a tight budget.

The extra-athlete fee counts active athletes only, meaning athletes with workouts planned in the future. On top of lactate testing you get the coaching platform: training planning, athlete communication, calendars, analytics and annual periodization.

The Real Cost Comparison: How Each One Bills
The two products charge in different ways, and INSCYD does not publish its amounts (INSCYD demo), so we do not add up a yearly total per roster. Any such number would rest on our guess about INSCYD’s price.
What we can say: on INSCYD, the cost follows the model in your contract, whether that is per active athlete, per test package or a flat rate, and it covers analysis only. If you coach, you add a training platform such as TrainingPeaks, which lists its Coach Edition from $21.99 USD per month, plus premium athletes and “additional taxes may apply” (TrainingPeaks coach pricing). On Coachbox, you pay one plan that covers planning and testing, with a published per-test price after the free tests.
Which one costs less depends on your test volume, on the model INSCYD offers you, and on whether you need a coaching platform at all. A lab that only tests has no training platform to add. A coach who plans every week does. Ask INSCYD for a quote for your volume and put it next to the Coachbox plan that fits your roster.
When INSCYD’s Pricing Makes Sense
INSCYD’s pricing can be worth it in specific situations:
Performance testing as a premium service. If you sell metabolic profiles at the $200 to $450 INSCYD describes (FAQ) and have a steady pipeline of athletes, the software cost sits against real revenue.
Institutional or team budgets. INSCYD lists universities, national federations, human performance labs and professional teams among its users (FAQ). In our view, for an organization of that size the software cost is a small part of its performance budget.
Research settings. INSCYD publishes validation work behind its methodology (validation and verification), which matters in academic and lab environments.
Visibility with athletes. INSCYD says its marketing network reaches over 80,000 athletes a month who look for INSCYD coaches and labs, and that it features its users there (grow your coaching business, INSCYD FAQ).
When Coachbox’s Pricing Makes More Sense
Coaches who test regularly. If lactate testing is a routine part of your coaching rather than a separate premium service, a published per-test price of 3 to 6 EUR excl. VAT makes the cost of each test easy to plan.
Coaches who want one tool. If you now pay for a coaching platform and a testing tool, or you are evaluating both, Coachbox covers both in one subscription.
Coaches building a testing practice. If you add lactate testing to your services for the first time, you can start right after signup and run your first tests on the free tests in your plan.
Budget-conscious practices. For coaches working with recreational or age-group athletes, a retail price in the range INSCYD describes can be out of reach. In our view, knowing your software cost per test upfront (3 to 6 EUR excl. VAT) makes it easier to set a retail price that fits those athletes and to test them more often.
Making Your Decision: Who Should Use INSCYD
Use INSCYD if you run a lab, a testing center or a coaching business that sells metabolic profiling as a premium service, if you want metrics beyond lactate thresholds such as VO2max, VLamax and fat and carbohydrate combustion from one profile (INSCYD FAQ), or if you test athletes remotely, cyclists from power data and runners from a GPS watch (INSCYD PPD). INSCYD is also a good fit if you already have a coaching platform you like and want the deepest analysis you can add to it.
Look elsewhere if you want to see the price before you talk to anyone, if you need training planning and testing in the same subscription, or if you mostly test recreational athletes and want to know your software cost per test before you start.
The right pricing model is the one that matches how you work and who you serve. In our view, INSCYD’s value is depth of analysis, and Coachbox’s value is testing and coaching in one place at a published price.
